The church unanimously affirmed Pastor Don's call on Sept. 9th, 2015, and he began as Interim Lead Pastor on Sept. 14th. As the Director of The David and Faith Kim School of Global Missions and the Baker James Cauthen Professor of World Missions, Pastor Don currently leads Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary's intercultural studies and mission preparation program. He is a native of Mississippi, and worked in large Asian cities for thirty years. His cross-cultural experience includes time in a variety of cultural environments, including Buddhist, Muslim, and Hindu. Pastor Don worked for the IMB and later led a training team for an international corporation. He has developed communities in urban high-rises, created strategies for penetrating new markets, provided leadership for a hundred expatriate teams, developed leaders, and overseen the on-boarding process for new corporate personnel. Pastor Don holds a Doctorate of Missology from Malaysia Baptist Theological Seminary, a Master of Divinity from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts from Mississippi College.
Since Pastor Don's college days, his wife, Anne, has been the love of his life. Together they have two children. Both their daughter, Chesed, and their son, Rob, are wonderful servants in a variety of Christian ministries.
Brice became Pastor to Families and Young Adults in November 2008. His great joy is helping people deeply connect and live in a daily way with Jesus Christ. He deeply desires for people to find a place of belonging during their sojourn in Marin County. His other great joy is his family – he married Susan in 1998 and has two boys, Owen and Jake. Brice loves movies, history, and college football.
Before coming to TBC, Brice served as lead pastor of Strawberry Community Church in Mill Valley for nearly 9 years. Brice ministered in several places before arriving in Marin. Among them was serving youth in Enid, OK, in the early 1990s and coaching football in France while helping launch a new church from 1994 to 1996. Most recently he has traveled with 2 ministry teams to Uganda.
Brice was born in Alva, OK, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO. In 2000, he received the Master of Divinity from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley.
Pashia joined the Tiburon Baptist staff in February, 2015.
On June 1st, 2015, Stephen Aoki began his new role as the Interim Executive Pastor. Stephen began attending TBC in 2009 and has served at TBC in a number of capacities, most recently as the Children's Minister. Stephen graduated from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in 2011. Stephen also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Hawai'i and has a background in banking and office management. He and his wife, Pauline, and their children live in Mill Valley and are excited to see God at work through this opportunity.
