I am a home-grown Bay area resident who can be described as being introspective, cooperative, informative, compassionate, and empathetic. In 2009 I graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English: Creative Writing and, in 2015, from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree with an emphasis in youth ministry. I have been able to do mission work in Hungary, the Philippines, and have co-led multiple trips of teenagers to Mexico. I have been ministering to young people for over 10 years. My passion is building mentoring relationships with students and seeing God work through them. I enjoy reading, writing, backpacking, board games, video games, comic books, and other nerdy endeavors. Secretly I am athletic but don’t tell anyone.

Monica finds great joy in connecting with children while sharing with them God's love for them! Monica aims to show God's children that they are loved by Jesus and that God desires to have a deep relationship with them. Monica enjoys bringing laughter, joy, compassion, and even fun into Children's Ministry. She also recognizes that God has given her the heart and passion to serve all of God people as well as families who seek to know more about Jesus and how to better equip their children to know and seek Jesus Christ as well.

Monica's next greatest joy in her life is her family. She is married to her best friend, Joseph, of more than 20 years. And together they have two daughters, Marissa and Samantha. Monica is an avid photographer and scrapbooker but finds greater joy in being a wife and mother. She also enjoys time with fellow "sisters-in-Christ" for she is encouraged by other women who seek and follow Christ as well.

Monica is a native of Southern California and moved to Northern California and has made the Bay Area her home since 1993 where she pursued a college education. She has been in ministry for over ten years and looks forward to many more years of serving Jesus. She always has a smile on her face for which she explains, "I'm always smiling because Jesus found and saved me and now lives in me!"
